No. Apollos Watered is an independent ministry. While we draw inspiration from a variety of Christian traditions—especially the Reformed, evangelical, and global church streams—we are not formally affiliated with any denomination or parachurch group. Our vision is kingdom-focused, rooted in historic orthodoxy, and committed to serving the global body of Christ.

The name comes from 1 Corinthians 3:6, where Paul writes, “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.”
We exist to water the seeds of the gospel—helping leaders, churches, and everyday Christians grow deep roots in Christ and flourish in His mission.

Missioholism is a gospel-centered, mission-framed approach that participates in God’s redemptive work across all of creation. It integrates the gospel, the Kingdom story, new creation community, and cultural engagement, encouraging faithful presence in both church and culture. Central to missioholism is verbally proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, while also living out God’s mission through service, formation, cultural engagement, creation-restoring work, and participation in community. These efforts establish credibility, demonstrate God’s kingdom, and strengthen the impact of verbal gospel proclamation.

In missioholism, mission is the overarching work of God in the world, while missions often refers to specific efforts to reach people who are different from us. Traditional missions often focus on going to other countries, and we fully support sending missionaries overseas. We want to see all peoples not only reached with the gospel, but also discipled—taught to obey Jesus and follow Him faithfully. Missioholism approaches this as a process: through faithful participation in God’s kingdom, relational engagement, cultural and community work, and long-term service, we build credibility and trust, which strengthens the impact of verbal gospel proclamation. At the same time, missioholism recognizes that “different cultures” are all around us today, in our neighborhoods, workplaces, and communities. Mission includes faithful kingdom participation, relational engagement, and verbally sharing the gospel of Jesus, while also engaging in cultural, community, and discipleship work. Both immediate and ongoing aspects are essential to faithfully participate in God’s mission wherever we are.

While missioholism sees all of life as part of God’s mission, our ultimate goal is twofold: first, to glorify God in all we do, and second, to create trust, credibility, and relationships so that people will hear and believe the gospel of Jesus Christ. Some aspects of mission are immediate—verbally proclaiming the gospel—while others are slower, like cultural engagement, formation, service, creation restoration, and participation in community. These slower aspects demonstrate God’s kingdom, establish credibility, and prepare people to be discipled in obedience to Jesus, strengthening the impact of verbal proclamation. Mission is not just activity; it is intentional, gospel-centered participation in God’s redemptive work.

Cultural apologetics is the practice of engaging today’s culture with the truth, beauty, and relevance of the Christian faith. Apollos Watered is for thoughtful, spiritually hungry Christians—especially pastors, ministry leaders, and those trying to make sense of how to live faithfully in a rapidly changing, pluralistic culture.

We are a distributed team with leadership in both Florida and Illinois, but Apollos Watered operates primarily online—serving a national and international audience through podcasts, resources, and training.
